Jersey Dairy Wins Gold at Premier UK Show
01/09/2009
Jersey Dairy has won nine awards – including four gold - at a premier agricultural event in the UK.
Whipping cream, yoghurts and full cream milk all took gold, with single cream and low fat peach yoghurt winning silver awards and bronze going to salted butter, skimmed milk and low fat peach yoghurt. These products beat off competition from some the UK’s leading craft dairies and household names.
Head of Quality, Janet Wyatt, said everyone at Jersey was delighted to have won so many prizes at such a prestigious and well-attended show.
“This was our most comprehensive entry in five years, so it was fantastic for the quality of so many of our products to be acknowledged in the face of such strong competition. Moreover, to win four gold awards, in particular in the Whole Milk category, was very pleasing,” she said.
This is the fifth year that Jersey Dairy has entered the Nantwich Show. It has always come home with a raft of awards but never as many as this year - and never so many gold. Organised by the Nantwich Agricultural Society, the Nantwich Show has been going for more than 100 years and attracts more than 33,000 visitors each year.
